FAQ
Letterhead + Mailchimp: your questions, answered.
Does Letterhead replace Mailchimp?
No — Letterhead runs on top of Mailchimp. You keep sending through Mailchimp, so your lists, automations, and sender reputation stay put, and you run newsletter production, curation, portfolio management, and monetization in Letterhead.
Can Mailchimp manage multiple newsletters or brands?
Mailchimp supports multiple audiences in an account (one on Free, up to five on Standard, unlimited on Premium) but bills each audience separately, and its own guidance recommends a single primary audience; separate brands generally use separate accounts. Letterhead adds portfolio management across every brand and title on top. (As of July 2026.)
Does Mailchimp charge for duplicate contacts?
Per Mailchimp’s own documentation, a contact that appears in two audiences is counted — and billed — in each. Letterhead’s portfolio view helps you understand readers across titles. (As of July 2026.)
Can I sell ads or sponsorships in a Mailchimp newsletter?
Mailchimp doesn’t include native ad-inventory or sponsorship management; publishers typically add a third-party tool. Letterhead’s Revenue module handles direct ads, house promotions, and per-send reporting.
How much does Mailchimp cost?
As of July 2026, Mailchimp’s marketing plans run Free ($0, up to about 250 contacts), Essentials (from about $13/month), Standard (from about $20/month), and Premium (from about $350/month), scaling by contact count and send volume. Check mailchimp.com/pricing for current numbers.
Do I have to migrate to use Letterhead with Mailchimp?
No migration. Connect your Mailchimp audience and you’re building in Letterhead in minutes — sends still go through Mailchimp.
