Preview your email in Outlook

Paste your email’s HTML and we photograph it in a real Outlook.com inbox, and in Gmail too, on a desktop screen and at phone width. Free, no signup, one preview a day.

Up to 102KB. Don’t paste anything confidential: the email is sent to our test inboxes and stays there; the screenshots are deleted after a week. One preview a day.

About Outlook

Which Outlook you’re seeing

“Outlook” is several different email clients. This preview shows Outlook.com on the web, the free inbox at outlook.com that also handles hotmail.com and live.com addresses. It doesn’t show Outlook for Windows or Mac, or the Outlook phone app, and those can render the same email differently.

What to look for in the screenshots

  • Images that don’t load, or load at the wrong size.
  • Text that wraps or spaces differently than in your editor.
  • Buttons and columns out of line, especially at phone width.
  • Whether Gmail clipped the same email, shown in the Gmail screenshots.

Before you preview

Run the HTML through Preflight’s email check first. It catches links that won’t work and Gmail’s clip without using your one preview of the day.

In Letterhead, the weight check runs while you write.

The composer weighs every issue and shows what’s making it heavy, so you can trim before Gmail clips it.

FAQ

Questions about previewing email in Outlook

Which version of Outlook does this show?

Outlook.com on the web, on a desktop screen and in a narrow window. Not Outlook for Windows or Mac, and not the phone app.

How do I preview an email in Outlook before sending?

Paste your HTML above: we send it to our own Outlook.com test inbox and photograph it. You can also send a test to an Outlook.com address you own and open it there.

Why does my email look different in Outlook?

Each Outlook version renders HTML its own way, and some ignore CSS that other inboxes support. Check the versions your readers use.

Is it free?
